The Uganda People’s Congress –UPC party has backed the decision of the Gulu district local council to ban the selling and consumption of crude waragi.
The Gulu district local Government passed a bylaw banning the consumption of a local potent gin that is packed in polythene paper.
Addressing the media the party spokesperson Mr Michael Osinde urged all local councils in Uganda should emulate Gulu by passing bylaws banning the sale and consumption of crude waragi.
He called upon the Uganda National Bureau of standards to pick interest in the banned gin.
According to Osinde, 60% of youth of Uganda spend their time drinking crude waragi.
